Adopted!  Tehana is a small (50 pound) girl who is very shy, but not fear aggressive.  This 3-year old is very sweet, but will require someone with patience and will provide a relatively quiet, calm environment.  She was very bonded to Finn, so having a second dog will help her again some confidence.  We’ll be doing cat testing when she settles in to her new environment.

Adopted!  Pippin is a 6 year old male whippet.  Prior to ending up in foster care he spent his life at an outdoor puppy mill.  For the past 2 months Pippin has been living with 3 other sighthounds and learning all about home life. He came to us very fearful of loud sounds, fast movements and did not like being left alone.  He has made huge progress and now enjoys 2 walks a day, rides well in the car, uses a doggie door and likes to snuggle up on the couch.  We have gradually worked up to leaving him crated for a couple of hours at a time.  He can still be skittish and sudden movement sometimes startle him.   Pippin finds comfort in the company of other dogs so his ideal home will have 1 or more sighthound and someone who is home most of the time.  He is a sweet boy who is still gaining confidence every day.

Adopted!  Phoenix was recently returned to us through no fault of his own.  This sweet boy just turned 7 years old.  He is doing great with the other dogs in the pack and has done well in cat testing.  He is very affectionate and would like nothing more than to have his people have lots of time and attention for him.

Adopted!  Ginger is a 3.5 year old greyhound/Irish wolfhound mix.  This soft, fuzzy girl is a happy affectionate girl and walks well on leash.  She is in a foster home with several other sighthounds and has done well with all of them.  She was used as a hunting dog in the central valley, so we don’t know yet how she will do with smaller dogs.  Although she has lived outside in her previous home, she has had no accidents in her foster home.

Update 2/22/17.  Ginger did well with medium and large dogs in the pack at King’s Kastle.  She was not good with the little dogs and is not cat safe.  But she is a glutton for human attention and would like nothing more than to curl up on a couch with someone!

Adopted! Rambo is a 2 year old brindle boy.  Although he is supposed to be all greyhound, I see some borzoi in him.  He has that flat nose and long, long legs!  He is in the pack at King’s Kastle and has done well with dogs of all sizes.  He has met Sirius the cat twice and after initial curiosity, walks away.  He is a favorite of the King’s Kastle staff.  he is another dog who came to us from the central valley (with Ginger), but he had not been trained for hunting yet, which may account for how well he does with small critters.

Dasher is a handsome racing dog from Korea.  He is about 2 years old.  In his first foster home, he did fine with the other dogs and the cats and with visitors who stopped by.  However, he did not like the male housemate when he returned from a visit.  We are working with him at King’s Kastle to figure out his triggers.
