This wine came about as a collaboration of two Napa Valley winemakers and a Napa Valley chef, with a passion for fine food and fine wines. These three were touched by a special love when one of the friends adopted an ex-racing greyhound by the name of Sascha. A source of boundless energy and unconditional love, Sascha charms everyone he meets. They knew that a wine full of the same love and energy could bring new focus and financial support* to help more greyhounds find loving homes like his. ResQ was born. * The winemakers are donating the major portion of the profits from this wine to greyhound rescue.

ABOUT
THIS PINOT NOIR
Pinot Noir is the thoroughbred of grapes, so it was the natural choice for this project. We contacted a friend with a vineyard in the Carneros region of the Napa Valley and carefully selected "our" rows of 26 year old vines. Then we personally manicured the vines to optimize fruit quality. It was a lot of work, but it was worth it. One and a quarter tons were harvested on October 2, 2001 The wine was aged in French oak barrels (2/3 new) for 14 months before bottling. Only 65 cases were produced. WINEMAKER'S
TASTING NOTES
ResQ Pinot Noir is brilliant garnet in color. It has inviting aromas of smoke, spices, cherries, forest raspberries, red currants, earth and vanilla. It is rich and full on the palate, with a smooth, lingering finish. The wine is perfectly ready to drink now. CHEF'S
