Langdon
Langdon has the tall & thin profile so recognizable to all as the quintessential greyhound. He'll turn two years in October and is still learning about all the new sights and sounds in the world outside the track. A real "people" dog, he is trusting and a leaner! In initial small animal testing, this somewhat shy boy did well with small dogs, but was too interested in the cats to be considered cat-safe. However, his pup-like antics may be too much for some small dogs, so proper introductions and appropriate monitoring and patience would be required for an adopter with a small dog.

Oscar
Oscar is a handsome Greyhound-Deerhound mix born in February 2009. He and his sister were brought down to the Bay Area when he was about 10 weeks old. Oscar is currently living in a foster home with a male greyhound and female hound mix. Being a puppy, Oscar's training is ongoing. He knows how to sit and lie down. Oscar is very food/treat motivated, which helps with his training.
He is an extremely affectionate and loving boy. While he's full of energy, he also enjoys long petting sessions, belly-rubs, and curling up next to someone on the couch. He really loves being with people, particularly women, and never lets his foster-mom out of his sight.
Oscar whimpers or barks when he wants attention or to play. This rambunctious boy also can be a bit excited about female dogs but is learning to respect boundaries. He loves playing with his toys. Oscar is a bit anxious about riding in vehicles and has a tendency to get carsick.
He needs find a forever home with active people that will continue his training and give him the attention he needs. It is recommended that he live in a home with adults or older children as he is still learning proper manners and play etiquette. We think that Oscar plays too roughly to live with very small dogs or cats.

Junior
"It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!" ~Mark Twain
Junior knows what he wants - a forever home! This 3 ½ year old Scottish Deerhound mix hopes to fulfill his bear-hugging role with a mature family by the end of the season. Just look at that earnest face and pleading eyes. “Please take me to a nice quiet place where you can scratch behind my ears, and I can cuddle at your feet.” Junior is a strong-bonding boy and doesn’t like to share attention with other pooches – wants all the smooches to himself! This stay-at-home pet needs a backyard for exercise. A family with no other pets and no, or older, children would provide Junior with the consistent environment within which he will thrive. Let’s get Junior planted this Spring!
